Odyssey Team’s rootless iOS & iPadOS 15 – iOS 15.1.1 Jailbreak

Status update on Odyssey Team’s rootless iOS & iPadOS 15 – iOS 15.1.1 Jailbreak

Coolstar and the Odyssey team are continuously working for this new jailbreak project and from time to time they are updating status about iOS 15 – iOS 15.1.1 jailbreak. Today Coolstar shared a screenshot through the official discord channel of Procursus on iPhone X running iOS 15.1 via Taurine.

Also, he discusses some of the advancements related to different chipsets in the announcement, as each chipset presents a unique set of challenges that the team must overcome in order to release  iOS 15 – iOS 15.1.1 jailbreak.

According to this announcement, here are the challenges.

    • iPhone 6 to 6s Plus (A8-A9) – are unlikely to be supported in the initial release, as the team is transitioning to the multicast bytecopy exploit, which will take longer to implement.
    • iPhone 7 and 7 Plus (A10) – for unknown reasons, the team is having difficulty getting the exploit to work on these devices, but it should theoretically work. More time will be needed for troubleshooting.
    • iPhone 8 to X (A11) – the team is close to having a working shell. On the Procursus side of things, there is still work to be done.
    • iPhone XS to the 13 Pro Max – ( A12-A15) – There are still some issues to work out in terms of tweak injection, but some shell commands are functional. On the Procursus side of things, there is still work to be done on these devices.

Also, a few days ago he achieved Codesign on iOS 15.0.1 on A13 device.

    Release date

No firm date has been set for the Odyssey Team’s rootless iOS & iPadOS 15 – iOS 15.1.1 jailbreak.

The team is working hard to find ways to circumvent Apple’s security mechanisms as well as new ways to incorporate tweak injection and a pleasant user experience. Coolstar developed Jailbreak tools since iOS 11 under various names such as Electra for iOS 11 – iOS 11.4.1, Chimera for iOS 12 – iOS 12.5.5, Odyssey for iOS 13 – iOS 13.4.1 and taurine for iOS 14 – iOS 14.8.1. Even if this iOS 15 Jailbreak performs under the name of Taurine, the name will be changed once the jailbreak tool is released. New name revealed as Cheyote jailbreak, read from here.
